"From the outside this restaurant looks a bit dodgy but once inside, the african ambience embraces you. The waitress was kind and patient with explaining the menu. I had the mixed carpaccio as a starter and the Sereng platter as main course. My favorite was the kudu of the platter. They had live music which sounded a bit carribean but the band was really good. Definitely worth going here."

"GREETINGS FROM ROME! A memorable experience! The food was really good, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We tasted fired worms, different types of meat, and side vegetables and we enjoyed all the plates! The staff was kind and always happy to explain to us the food we were eating. The live music band was awesome, we sang and danced... No better way to start our last night in Cape Town!"

"Very fun atmosphere with the band, the food was good and the service attentive. I had the seafood soup and a sort of tripe stew. I was lucky to get a seat - it was the only available table, so you probably need to book ahead on weekends or holiday season."

"Marco’s is a great place for south African dishes including game meat. We had sweet waitresses and good food, and after a while a band also played onstage."

"This place is a total vibe. The food was delicious especially the malva pudding and the music was worth the cover charge. It was packed and everyone was enjoying themselves. The only thing I had a problem with was that I like my meat well done and I had to send it back. When my plate was returned to me only one of the two portions was cooked to my liking. Ive discovered during my time in South Africa that most meats aren't cooked well done."
